The Eidos Institute

www.eidos.org.au

Eidos is a network of partners seeking to change the way Australia’s important social and economic challenges are solved. Eidos aims to be an impartial incubator of fresh ideas and critical thinking on significant and difficult problems facing the Australian community. Eidos does this using an action-research method, engaging with its partners and experts to bring forward insights speedily, make sense of the intelligence received and investigated, define appropriate and practical action, arrange connections to specialists well-placed to assist in implementation, and distill, transfer and assemble knowledge for further impact. Areas of particular concern include fostering social enterprises rather than welfare services; driving innovation in sentencing and law reform; and connecting sport, service and education to create new leadership opportunities for Indigenous Australian youth, and practical action for positive change. The end goal is to serve the public interest, namely, contributing to Australia as a smart, fair, compassionate, inclusive and economically successful nation, whose people have opportunities and choices to enhance their wellbeing and livelihoods.
