Saint Anthony Catholic School is a historical landmark nestled near downtown Fort Lauderdale. The school was constructed in 1926, designed by the famous architect Francis Abreau. In September of 1926, Saint Anthony Catholic School opened its doors to become the first Catholic school in Broward County. There were sixty-four students who attended that first year. The hopes, dreams, hard work and love of God exhibited by the Adrian Dominican Sisters who ran Saint Anthony Catholic School until 1982 are alive and well today. Today, Saint Anthony has approximately 450 students in grades PK-3 through 8th grade. They were the first school in the Archdiocese of Miami to earn STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Math) certification in 2017 through the Florida Catholic Conference. The 1:1 iPad program provides students with devices to enrich and enhance their learning. The innovative approach to teaching and learning lends itself to robust learning opportunities for students, and continued academic success. Saint Anthony earned the distinction of becoming an Apple Distinguished School (2021-2024) for its innovative use of technology in the classroom. In addition to its strong academics, Saint Anthony has a wide variety of clubs and sports to meet the varied interests of the students. Saint Anthony Catholic School is proud of its “heritage of excellence.”
