The 'From Fire To Ice' expedition will circumnavigate the Island of Iceland on bicycles while facing the unpredictable and often wet and windy conditions this stunning island has to offer. In January 2010, Rob's life changed forever. While working in Zanzibar the house he was occupying caught fire trapping him inside. Sustaining a 43% total body surface burn and with a 27% chance of survival, over 200 days in hospital, 35 operations (so far) and the pain of having to learn to walk again, medical staff fought to save his life. The From Fire to Ice expedition aims to raise money for the charity Dan's Fund For Burns from the very people it was set up to support. Joining Rob will be filmmaker Kevin Augello who will documentary Rob’s journey. Kevin will be exclusively using an iPhone 12, shooting in Dolby Vision HDR. Beginning August 2021 and though out September the team will fly into Reykjavik with all equipment needed to self sustain themselves for the entire trip. After two days of set up, the team will head off from Reykjavik, cycling around this often harsh island. The team will also visit the Okjökull glacier. Where a plaque was laid by the Icelandic government to commemorate the ‘death of a glacier’ and apologise to the children of the future of the lack of inaction in the face of climate change. The team will live under canvas, travel on bikes and carry everything needed over a total distance of 1500 Kilometers heading back round to Reykjavik.
