ConstructSafe is the solution to assessing Health & Safety competency within the construction industry in New Zealand. Before now, we haven’t been assessing the competency of our workforce regarding health and safety onsite. Assessing people’s knowledge of the environment in which they are working, creates confidence in their capability to do their jobs safely. We have been training workers, without being certain of the training they actually need. The ConstructSafe framework identifies the everyday tasks, the risks they involve and the controls for each. In the same way that a drivers licence proves the competency of a driver, ConstructSafe proves the health and safety competency of our workforce.
