He was editor and publisher of AI Trends, the first newsletter dedicated to the commercial application of artificial intelligence. He is also the author of "The Brain Makers," the definitive history of the early AI industry, and "The Great Brain Book," the winner of the National Science Teachers Association “Outstanding Science Book” award. He is the recent winner of two 2018 awards for science writing from the NSTA and the CBC. Newquist has written articles on everything from smart machines to music technology, directed documentaries, and spoken at tech events around the world. The Relayer Group produced one of the most successful and well-regarded traveling science exhibits in recent years - “GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World” - for The National GUITAR Museum. Launched in 2011, it has been traveling continuously throughout North America for the past 7 years. The company is currently developing a traveling exhibition on artificial intelligence, “AI: Your Mind & The Machine," which begins touring in Fall 2019.
