SHOPPING RESORTS As convenience purchases become easier through e-commerce, a new requirement exists for retailers to offer a fully branded experience within destinations that provide a sense of arrival, emotional engagement, and a lasting impression. Our concept delivers this immersive environment. It combines the very best flagship stores and shopping with family dining, entertainment, hospitality, education and sport, all set in beautiful inspiring architecture and landscaping. Our first Shopping Resort venture was Puerto Venecia, a 200,000 m2 retail destination in Zaragoza, Spain. Opened in 2012 and winner of ‘Best Retail and Leisure Development Worldwide’ in the 2013 MAPIC Awards, the centre is recognised as a leading tourist attraction by the regional government drawing 19 million visitors annually. SCHEME TRANSFORMATIONS Dominating a catchment is not enough when retailers are trading in out-of-date formats. Poor asset management strategies affect financial performance and results in losing key tenants. We look to acquire and transform these fundamentally-sound, but underperforming assets. We reconfigure centres for optimum performance, giving existing retailers the environment they need to perform, attracting new tenants through relationships, and investing in visitor experience. LOGISTICS Retailers understand the need for overhauling supply chain strategies and investing in new technologies. We are seeing logistic requirements from newcomers as well as legacy retailers whose existing infrastructure is obsolete. Our knowledge of retailers’ logistic investment strategies and our extensive planning expertise, uniquely positions us to partner with retailers on their journey toward growth.
