This is the official LinkedIn for The Pennsylvania State University--University Park Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers. Connect with us to learn more about what we do within our Chapter, how to get involved, become a partner or sponsor, and more! NSBE’s mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.” This organization was created to help provide and show a development in diversity within the STEM and engineering community. It is here as a helpmate for not only engineers but also anyone seeking professional development and guidance within their own lives. With Black engineers making up only 3% of the workforce, The National Society of Black Engineers hopes to bring that number up substantially. The STEM fields often have many dropouts due to the rigor and lack of support, especially in POC communities. At the Penn State University Park Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, erected in 1989, we aim to provide a growth stimulant that allows students to feel safe and supported within their major.
