www.uia.noE-health and welfare technology are important for securing good health and active ageing, which are among society's most pressing challenges. The field of research is rapidly evolving. Reference region for e-health The Centre for e-health was established in 2010, with the goal of becoming a national and international centre for innovation-driven research in eHealth. By co-creating with stakeholders and end-users, the centre aims to make Agder the best region for e-health both national and international by the next five years. Preferred partner Locally and regionally, this means that the Centre for e-health will be the natural contact point for e-health related research projects and initiatives. Nationally, this means that the centre will work towards a status as a Centre for research driven innovation (SFI), and to become a preffered partner for The Norwegian Directorate of eHealth. Global e-health Internationally, the centre will participate in forward-thinking projects that puts Norway and Agder on the map, and secure a position as a representative for Norway in many e-health-related settings. Co-creation The Centre for e-health facilitates co-creation between academia, businesses, health actors, the municipalities, patients, next of kins, and volunteers. The needs of the end-users will direct the aim of the centre's research. In the years ahead, the centre will be working even more with projects aiming to improve the overall health of the population, and to strengthen the connection between education and research.
