Founded in 2007, NANHRI is registered under Kenyan laws as an independent legal entity. Its Secretariat is hosted by the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights in Nairobi. The Network works towards the establishment and strengthening of NHRIs in Africa. It provides capacity building and facilitates coordination and cooperation amongst NHRIs by linking them with other key human rights actors at the regional and international levels.
