The School of Physics at UNSW Sydney is one of the leading Physics departments in Australia. We have a strong research culture, with a third of our academic staff recieving research fellowships. Staff in the School are conducting cutting edge research in Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Theoretical Physics, Acoustics and Biophysics. The School also hosts the ARC Centre for Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology, and nodes of the ARC Centres of Ecellence in Future Low-Energy Electronics Technologies and Exciton Science. We are committed to providing stimulating teaching to the many students who study Physics at UNSW Sydney. We are leading the way in developing innovative online teaching. We are investing in modern classrooms and student laboratories and many of our staff have received teaching awards. UNSW attracts the best students from within the state and across the world. Undergraduate students can study Physics through the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science, or one of the many dual degrees offered at UNSW. We have over fifty postgraduate students undertaking research in all areas of the School. Our graduates are highly employable and follow a wide variety of careers in Physics research, industry and education.
