MakeDC connects people with design to solve social, economic, and environmental issues. Historically, the power of design has only been available to those who can afford it, meaning it's largely been unattainable by 90% of the world’s population. But these are the same people who need design the most. We provide solutions for this overlooked population by tackling the problems they face every day. Our goals: • To design a better Washington, D.C., for every man, woman, and child. • To preserve and restore our natural environment for generations to come. • To empower everyone to MakeDC a better city through design. MakeDC is a not-for-profit Benefit Corporation (B Corp), bridging the gap between nonprofit initiative and for-profit enterprise. We operate by focusing on the triple bottom line of social impact, environmental sustainability, and financial stability.
