Beyond Sports Foundation
www.supportbsf.orgMission Beyond Sports Foundation uses the power of sport to transform lives by turning athletic ability into life opportunity. Focus Beyond Sports Foundation prepares student-athletes to succeed in life. Our student-athletes typically come from under-resourced families in under-served communities and will need financial assistance in order to attend college. Many of our student-athletes are from populations that are under-represented on college campuses. Pillars Athletic Development: State-of-the-art athletic training to enhance speed and strength, diet and nutritional counseling complement this training, recruitment preparation and support. Academic Development: An advanced and proven educational model leveraging academic tutoring including individualized tutoring available five days per-week and monitoring of academic progress. A comprehensive ACT tutoring program is also provided. Social Responsibility: Scheduled community service activities (such as volunteering at the Avon Breast Cancer Walk and the Warrior Dash). It is important for student-athletes to know that the gifts bestowed upon them should be shared with those around them who are in need. Mentorship and Professional Development: Exploration of interests outside of sports is encouraged. When sport ends, we want to ensure that student-athletes have a game plan to be the best they can be for their families, in the workforce, and in their communities. Workshops such as speech/presentation assignments, financial readiness, and career days at fortune 500 companies are planned. Student-athletes are also paired with board members, junior board members, and other members in the community for mentoring.
