GNL Québec

www.energiesaguenay.com

GNL Québec is developing the Énergie Saguenay Project, an innovative, net zero liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) facility located at the Port of Saguenay, Québec. The project includes two liquefaction trains, storage facilities, and marine shipping infrastructure. Energie Saguenay will export up to 11 million tonnes of LNG sourced from western Canada, which has the cleanest, lowest-GHG-emitting natural gas in the world. Énergie Saguenay will be the world’s first large LNG export facility to be entirely powered by available renewable hydroelectricity from an existing local grid. This will significantly contribute to GNL Québec’s carbon-neutrality. Énergie Saguenay will generate major economic benefits in Québec over the short, mid and long term. During the four-year construction period, the Project will create over 6,000 jobs. Once in Operation, Énergie Saguenay will create over 1,300 full-time direct and indirect jobs. GNL Québec’s commitment to environmental stewardship extends further than its own development. While GNL Québec has committed to develop a fully carbon-neutral facility, the Project further supports the fight against climate change by offering the lowest-GHG emitting LNG in the world as a significantly cleaner alternative to coal, fuel oil and even traditional LNG from incumbent suppliers.
