Gaza University (GU) is a national university, part of a wider Palestinian university system. On 2008 Gaza University earned recognition as a new higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Since establishment to present, 1500 students were graduated. GU provides higher education services to approximately 2000 students in 6 Bsc (4 years) faculties: • Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology • Faculty of Business and Financial Sciences • Faculty of Mass Communication and Languages • Faculty of Education • Faculty of Law. The University also has 7 Diploma programs (2 years) which are: • Office Administration and Automation. • Finance and Banking sciences. • Legal Secretary. • Medical Secretary. • Public relations and advertising • Child Education. • Software and databases. A total of 90 full time qualified staff members distributed in the GU faculties. Gaza University follows the best Academic models, effective and active learning for the students. The university seeks to develop new programs throughout its career to be suitable with the scientific and academic variables, as it is interested in getting accreditation of new faculties to follow the scientific needs and requirements of different development aspects. Gaza University depends on the best Arab and international academic standards of higher education (e.g. ABET), where the science and applied research has great importance. The University drew a future vision based on the cooperation and communication with local community and institutions, to diagnose problems, to assist in finding appropriate solutions, and to contribute meeting the needs and development of society. The university prepared comprehensive plans for the implementation of new programs to serve the community and the Palestinian labour market.
