Colorado Unmanned
www.counmanned.comColorado Unmanned was started by two military veteran, service disabled pilots (one rotary wing, one fixed wing) who worked together on a Department of Defense (DoD) inter-agency joint effort while on active duty. This effort, the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Airspace Integration Joint Test (UAS-AI JT), was chartered to design, test, and evaluate standardized procedures for the safe and efficient integration of DoD UAS assets into the National Airspace System (NAS). We were leaders and key authors in the development and testing of standardized procedures (routine and contingency) for large UAS (> 55 lbs.) to operate Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) in the NAS. Subsequently, these procedures received unanimous approval for implementation and use by all elements of the DoD. After forming the company, we decided to offer small UAS flight services after receiving requests from numerous commercial entities. Once we began working in the commercial sector, we realized that there was also an immediate need for standardization of UAS systems in this area. Drawing on knowledge learned over many years of military service, we created the Unmanned Aircraft- Combined Safety and Standardization Operating Procedures (UA-CSSOP) to fill this void in the commercial UAS market.
