Welcome to the UNSW Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering Biomedical engineering is focussed on the development and application of engineering concepts and methods to provide new solutions to biological, medical and healthcare problems. Similarly, the vision of the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering (GSBmE) is to provide the best research and teaching outcomes relevant to the development of applications in the human health sector to help in the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of Australians with life-threatening or debilitating diseases and conditions. It is an exciting time to be involved in this field. Everyday there are reports of new exciting health technologies and on improvements in health and wellness due to improved diagnostics and therapies. Our teaching activities concentrate on the Master of Biomedical Engineering program with intakes for people with both engineering and medical backgrounds. In addition the School’s dual degree in biomedical engineering (Bachelor of Engineering / Master of Biomedical Engineering) continues to grow in reputation as Australia's most innovative and high quality educational program allowing undergraduate students to study Biomedical Engineering at a high level with more than 500 students currently enrolled in these programs.
