The Casa Donoso winery (Casa Donoso) entered into the market in 1989 when a group of foreign investors acquired the historic estate Fundo La Oriental (Fundo la Oriental), which has a significant potential, located in the heart of the Maule Valley. Its owner, Mrs. Lucia Donoso Gatica, a woman of tremendous charm and talent in the business, not only gave her name to the vineyards, but also influenced the overall work of the winery, orienting it to the production of delicious red and white wines in the French style. Over time, the farm doubled due to joining the San Javier region of grape plantations, located just south of the main site in the Maule Valley region, and also located to the north of it in San Vicente (San Vicente). Currently, the winery covers an area of 710 hectares. In early 2011, there was a change of ownership, filling the project with fresh energy. The new owners decided to preserve the concept of development chosen by Mrs Lucia, and continue the tradition of producing classic wines from well-known varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Considering that the best wines are not born at the winery as such, but also at the vineyard, they also focused on the care of the vines. Absolutely all production steps at Casa Donoso are continuously monitored. In order to realize the high enological potential of wine and create a truly noble product of the highest quality, all the drinks here are created with minimal intervention in the natural course of the processes. For the production of elegant wines in a classic style with a distinctive aftertaste and characteristic expressiveness, the winemaker skillfully apply delicate control and extract the maximum from each grape variety.
