Global Shapers Milano
www.globalshapersmilano.comBorn out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges. With more than 6,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 378 city-based hubs in 160 countries. In each city, teams of Shapers self-organize to create projects that address the needs of their community. Projects are wide-ranging – from responding to disasters and combating poverty, to fighting climate change and building inclusive communities. Shapers are diverse in expertise, education, income and race, but are united by their desire to bring about change. Founded in 2012 the Milan hub is one of the most active hubs in the world. We have six active projects dealing with education and training, sustainability, refugees and mentoring. A brief overview of the active projects in Milano: - Milano Fuoriclasse: we help the new generations (middle schoolers) to understand the importance of respecting and protecting the environment and our rich artistic heritage here in Milan, organizing a variety of activities. - ShapeMI: we promote the collaboration between university student and SMEs organizing and coordinating teams to solve a specific problem the SMEs are facing. - Impact Advisors Milano: we help other no profit organizations be successful providing specific trainings and advisory. - Improve Milano: we organize workshops to help students and newly graduates to develop specific professional skills on the theme of the 4th industrial revolution. - Digital Essentials: we organize specific trainings for young professionals to develop digital skills. - RefugeIT: our first inter-hub project with all the italian hubs, with the aim to develop a database of best-practices on the themes of integration and immigration.
