Safe Streets JC, based in Jersey City, NJ, is an advocacy organization that is working towards ZERO traffic deaths and Safe Streets city-wide. Based in Jersey City, NJ - Safe Streets JC officially started via the Duncan Ave. Neighborhood Association in 2013 as a call to action after our neighbor Stephen Clifford was killed while walking across JFK Blvd. by a driver driving 60mph in a 25mph residential zone. Our strong resident advocacy for improvements on JFK Blvd. spurred Hudson County to secure multiple traffic studies and grants resulting in over $5.9mil. committed to upcoming engineering improvements on this roadway. In 2016, we officially formed as Safe Streets JC and expanded our mission to improving Traffic Safety city-wide. A world-class city needs world-class traffic and pedestrian safety.
