For sixty-five years the Schoeps microphone company of Karlsruhe has been among the leading microphone manufacturers world-wide. Schoeps represents the highest quality, transparency of sound, elegance, and durability. The "Colette" system, with its classic design and small physical dimensions, has become a standard over the past thirty years. This microphone series, which is continually expanded and updated, is more in demand today than ever before. The total for the Colette series contains to more than 21 capsule types and six amplifier types, plus an uncountable number of accessories. The palette of Schoeps microphones goes beyond the Colette series. CCM compact microphones are used everywhere when minimal physical size is required, e.g. on a boom for film sound recording. In that field the CCM 41 supercardioid is one of the most desired microphones, along with the CMIT 5 shotgun microphone. The SuperCMIT redefined the directional microphone when it was launched in 2010. It uses two capsules and a DSP processing to separate discrete sound sources from diffuse sound energy. This makes it possible to suppress interfering noise such as street noise, crowd noise or room reverberation, and to create a higher order of directivity without a change in sound colour.
