www.sbvac.orgThe Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SBVAC) is a New York State Certified Ambulance Corporation that primarily serves the Stony Brook University campus in Long Island. Since its founding in 1970 by a small group of university students to meet the needs of the growing campus population, SBVAC has grown into a collegiate EMS agency that provides the highest standard of emergency medical care in New York State. Employing the services of nearly 100 dedicated volunteer EMTs and paramedics, SBVAC operates with 3 ambulances and 1 ALS responder vehicle. SBVAC also provides mutual aid to neighboring Fire and EMS services. SBVAC is certified by Suffolk County to perform emergency response care up to an ALS level (Advanced Life Support).
