Porte was founded in 1968 by Hershey Porte. Leaving the comfort of working for an established real estate company he set off on his own to create his own destiny. He started with what he knew, real estate sales & land assembly. Over time the scope of the company grew to include property management, real estate development & construction. A stable & consistent group of owners & investors became connected with Porte building relationships of trust in property management & partnering in real estate developments. Some of these partnerships remain in place today as they move to the second generation of owners. Equally strong is the consistent involvement of a core group of architects, contractors & others. This core group has contributed to the successes of Porte over the years. Porte's commitment to our region extends to our philanthropic work. We give back to the communities we build in. Our annual giving program allows us to support the causes & organizations chosen by our staff that are doing important & valuable work helping the people of metro Vancouver. Today Porte still honors the values that were put in place when the company first started – Respect is Fundamental, Getting it Right, We Care & Here Tomorrow. Now held as the Porte Promises these values are the guidepost for how all Porte staff interact with each other & with our customers.
