In 1990, the late Jerry Blaising founded a small trade shop specializing in color separations and film production. He dubbed his start-up company "Excell Color Graphics" to reflect his goal for the business: to excel in color. Through 20-plus years of color separation experience, Jerry understood the importance of customer service and incorporated his simple philosophy as Excell's mission statement: "Make every customer happy with the results of every job." By following this rule, Excell grew quickly, performing high-quality color separations for numerous regional clients, including print shops. In 1997, the company's focus widened to include print production. What started in 1990 as a 3,000-square-foot trade shop has grown into a 27,000-square-foot printing facility. In that time of expansion, Excell has used just one form of advertising: positive word-of-mouth.
