Our customer portfolio includes (but is not limited to) entities operating in the mining, communication, and energy industries whose employees spend time in remote and often isolated worksites. Here in Alaska especially, “remote” does not have to mean faraway. Clients look to us for our expertise in understanding these environmental challenges, and our instruction on the awareness, avoidance, and management of the associated risks. We specialize in subjects such as considerations for an unexpected night out in extreme elements, awareness and behavior of potentially harmful wildlife, development of emergency communication plans, and the care and maintenance of the human body. Sample programs include: Wildlife Awareness and Defense (WAD): we offer several options: half day, full day, and multi-day. Topics include: behavior, biology, awareness, avoidance and defense - to include the use of bear spray and/or firearm platforms, also can incorporate defense of others (ie bear guard). The Unexpected Night Out (UNO): for workers that travel on and off the road system, we spec out safety kits/breakdown kits/medical kits and conduct workshops to show workers how to stay safe and comfortable utilizing the contents of these kits while they await rescue/assistance. The Practical Firearms Series (PFS): focusing on safety, smart handling, and effective employment of pistols, revolvers, shotguns and rifles. Great for newer shooters, recreational shooters, and those who carry a firearm as part of their occupational safety plan. Many variations exist depending on customer needs.
