Founded in 2019 in Bonn, Germany, Plastikalternative GmbH has made it its mission to educate people about the dangers of plastics and to market sustainable disposable tableware. The startup began with an informative blog and expanded to include an online shop in May 2019. The main target groups for the shop are snack bars, restaurants and hotels, but also food trucks and organisers should benefit from the new products. The advantage over conventional plastic tableware is that the materials are 100% biodegradable. In addition to the blog and the shop, Plastikalternative is also active on Facebook and has more than 20000 subscribers on Instagram.
