About Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) is a multidisciplinary international community creating experiences that connect people to place. The Milwaukee Chapter is an extension of the SEGD international, represented at a local level. Mission In pursuit of our mission, SEGD aspires to: - Promote public awareness of our community and its role in shaping experience. - Nurture demand for design excellence within the built environment. - Serve as a source of education and inspiration for our community. - Continue to define and refine our standards of practice. - Foster relevant, well informed research to enhance our knowledge base. - Sponsor peer recognition programs that inspire excellence. - Promote collaboration across multiple design disciplines. - Strengthen ties with educational programs that provide the academic underpinnings of our field. Description SEGD is the more than 1,600 members who work in the planning, design, fabrication, and implementation of communications in the built environment. SEGD is guided by a Board of Directors, which creates policies and programs to grow, enrich, and provide educational resources to the community. A strong network of Chapter Chairs represents SEGD at the local level, providing a vital liaison role between local members and the Board of Directors. A diverse professional staff implements Board initiatives, provides member support, and works to provide new services and resources for the SEGD community.
