Wellcamp Airport is Australian’s newest airport. After taking just over 19 months to build, Wellcamp Airport opened for operations in November 2014. Hailed as a game changer, Wellcamp Airport connects Toowoomba, Darling Downs and Surat Basin to the world through scheduled passenger flights, international freight opportunities, FIFO and charter operations. With GPS RNAV approaches, and PAPI lighting, the airports 2.87km (Code E) runway is capable of handling domestic and international services up to and including 747 size aircraft. Wellcamp is quickly growing with a rapidly expanding destination list and ever increasing passenger numbers. The state of the art terminal is designed to welcome up to 1.5 million passengers per year and is one of the largest regional airport terminals in Australia. Wellcamp Airport is the anchor tenant in the Wellcamp Business Park, which is set to be the business hub of Toowoomba and regional Queensland. Wellcamp Business Park has created interest from industry around Australia and internationally with its resource industry, manufacturing, agriculture and aviation focus.
