The Fitzroy Football Club (incorporating the Fitzroy Reds) was born from the merger of the Fitzroy Football Club and the Fitzroy Reds Football Club Inc in 2008. On both sides of this merger the clubs had a rich and varied history stretching back to 1883. Today the club is a strong, vibrant community club operating in the heart of Fitzroy and Melbourne with its mantra of ‘Great Football, Great Community, Great Culture'. Fitzroy fields six teams – Seniors, Reserves, Under 19s, Thirds and two Fitzroy-ACU women's teams, playing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association competition.
