G.W. Proudfoot Limted also known as The Proudfoot Group is a family run independent supermarket chain, which has been established for over 65 years. The Family operate four stores in total, one of which is a large non-food store, situated around the Scarborough area. These are Located in Newby, Eastfield and Seamer districts. Here at the Proudfoot Group our philosophy is all about customer service. We aim to provide a top class service to meet the ever changing needs and wants of our cherished customers. The mission statement we have in place is simple.... 'Live Better For Less'. The key to our success in our local community is solely down to people. The people who work for us and the people who shop with us. The Proudfoot Group has been a member of Nisa Retail Ltd for over 30 years, we are supplied via Nisa’s distribution centres. Nisa is owned by its members, this allows it to be operated like a co-operative, using the collective buying power of the large 'symbol' group and Independent retailers like ourselves to negotiate fantastic and extremely competitive deals from suppliers Throughout the life time of the Proudfoot Group we have won many different awards in our respective industry, ranging from national to locally recognised awards. Our most recent awards came in the shape of ‘The Grocer Gold Award for Independent Retailer of the Year 2011’ and ‘Nisa 2011 Award for Excellence Best Supermarket Award Newby Store’.
