Trevors Trek Foundation
www.trevorstrek.orgTTF is dedicated to promoting the awareness of childhood cancer clusters that exist in America’s communities as well as supporting the implementation of Trevor’s Law through action, advocacy, collaboration and coordination. Trevor’s Trek Foundation envisions a world in which children no longer have to suffer from preventable childhood cancers that are related to the air they breathe, the food they eat, the water they drink and the dirt in which they play. We strive to create a world in which parents no longer have to ask, “Why did this happen to my child?” On Tuesday March 10, 2015 U.S. Senators Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and David Vitter (R-LA) introduced bill S.697, the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. The intent of the Vitter-Udall bill is to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act from 1976 (TSCA). In November 2015 Trevor’s Law was included by Idaho Senator Mike Crapo and California Senator Barbara Boxer in bill S.697 and on December 18th, 2015 bill S.697 passed the Senate. On Wednesday June 22nd, 2016 President Barack Obama signed the Frank R Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (TSCA Reform). This will require stricter regulation over the thousands of chemicals currently in production and any new chemicals introduced. Through amendments such as Trevor’s Law the federal government is now authorized to collaborate with state and local governments, institutes of higher education and the community to investigate and help address cancer clusters.
