Koruncuk /Turkish Foundation for Children in Need of Protection, believes that every child entitled the right to receive compassion, love and understanding, to sufficient nutrition and to live in a healthy environment, to benefit from the possibilities of plays and fun, to receive modern education and to improve his/her skills, in brief, to live in human honour. The Foundation, founded by volunteers who aimed to establish and promote villages for children in 1979, aims to enable children in need of protection to live in a family environment as soon as they arrive in “the children’s village” and grow up in a healthy environment, to receive education, to develop their personal skills, to prepare for the future and contribute to the society at large. Children’s village is a settlement unit that consists of 10-12 houses established for providing a healthy environment for children who need protection starting from pre-school age, providing possibilities of education for them, for preparing them for the future by improving their personal skills and make them contributing individuals to the society. The target of our foundation, which gained momentum with the success of Bolluca children’s village, is to implement 5 children’s villages in provinces where they are mostly needed in Turkey and to help many other children who need protection. This first Turkish children’s village, (Bolluca Children’s Village) is a Social Responsibility Project that is implemented to introduce the children who need protection into the social life. The aim of Bolluca children’s village, with a capacity of 120 children is to provide to the children a quality and comprehensive service without ignoring any single smallest detail that children may need.
