Our mission is to create a better life for small-holder farmers. There are currently 500 million small-holder farmer households globally, and of this, 400 million live below the poverty line. In 2019, nearly 42,500 farmers and daily wagers committed suicide in India alone, whilst 1.3 billion tonnes of food produced for human consumption lost or wasted throughout the supply chain every year. WIDYA has developed a technology platform, a Digital Knowledge Ecosystem, that coordinates, enhances and facilitates the exchange of knowledge, material and money between stakeholders of the agrifood industry. In turn, this creates value in the form of higher yields, higher farm gate prices and supply chain efficiencies which is distributed back to stakeholders ranging from farmers, input suppliers, water providers, consumers, knowledge providers, governments and many others.
