Launched in 1993, OWIT South Florida is one of 40 chapters of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT), a voluntary, non-profit professional association dedicated to advancing global trade opportunities for women by providing networking and educational opportunities. Founded in 1989, OWIT serves as the unifying body of a network of chapters spanning the globe in the Americas, Western Europe, and Africa for over 2,000 members united in 20 affiliate chapters worldwide. The mission of OWIT is to support the advancement and empowerment of women in international trade through opportunities for networking, education, and international contacts and to promote women and men in international trade and commerce.
