The Ice Factor Foundation Inc is a registered Australian charity that has been formed to provide direct relief of human suffering, distress, misfortune,disability, destitution or helplessness as arouses compassion in the community. In South Australia, we support those children who are affected by behaviour that is harmful, including emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, suicide, self-harm, substance abuse and harmful gambling, or are otherwise disadvantaged. Our goal is to divert at-risk children from harmful behaviour and environments and to encourage each child to make better choices and to reach their full potential. The Ice Factor Foundation has developed program activities that require assisted children to fully participate in an ice hockey team whilst receiving education, mentoring, guidance and support. The objective of the programs is to assist children in preventing, avoiding, overcoming and managing harmful behaviour in themselves and in others. The programs are based on life-skill education and personal development within a purpose developed sporting environment, to assist affected students. The Foundation develops public awareness and support for children engaged in, involved with or affected by harmful or abusive behaviour, and conducts fund-raising activities to promote and carry out its charter.
