Brave Philanthropist is a movement of women who aim to change the face of philanthropy. Philanthropy is all too often thought of as a charitable avenue for the elite—the wealthiest 1-5%. Women who dedicate their lives to philanthropy on a smaller scale may not be recognized or equally rewarded for their efforts. We need to encourage women to give boldly and prioritize exponential change over incremental progress. Through the Brave Philanthropist website, social media, and partner support, we will offer steps for women to get started on their philanthropic journey, tools for non-traditional giving, and as a result, we hope to increase support for women’s and girls’ charities.
