Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University's Wege Center for Sustainable Design empowers the college and its surrounding community to collaboratively develop and implement powerful new ideas for a sustainable future. Through the lens of whole systems design thinking, the Center works toward a world in which the values and practices of sustainable design are thoroughly embedded in behavior and practice. Initiatives of the Center include: Wege Prize – a global student design competition focused on collaboratively solving wicked problems through the lens of the circular economy Spark Park – a dynamic pop-up public green space on the KCAD campus KCAD Recyclemania team – earned 3rd place in Diversion category of Recyclemania 2019 United Nations University Regional Center for Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development — representing KCAD and Grand Rapids Grand Rapids 2030 – representing KCAD Battle of the Buildings – representing KCAD
