Stability Matters is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. We are advocates for children in foster care and foster families. We have created a "Foster Closet" out of two empty bedrooms in our home for the children to shop 100% free. Our goal is to grow out of our home and open a retail space dedicated solely for children in foster care. This will be their VIP store, and no one else is able to enter. A positive place finally for them and only them. Approximately 43,000 children have stayed in the foster care system for five years or more. Five years to a child is a lifetime. Imagine that? One quarter of children who are removed from their parents to go into foster care are infants. Approximately 45,000 infants are placed in foster care, where they too often lack the stability that promotes attachment and early brain development. About 25,000 older youth "age out" of foster care each year without a permanent family to support them, with no place to go except to a shelter and then into a life of homeless, and ultimately into incarceration. Stability Matters provides non-monetary assistance to foster youth in care. Our goal is to alleviate some of the hardships being raised in the foster care system bring. A stable life grows a healthy child and in turn a happy adult. Stability in a Childs life really Matters! Please donate new clothes, shoes, toiletries, toys and books.
