El certamen tiene por objetivo crear un foro para la muestra de las últimas tendencias cinematográficas en un formato innovador en un festival. Existe una gran producción de mediometrajes en todo el mundo. La Cabina muestra que las películas de esta duración tienen la misma calidad que las que podemos ver en cualquier sala de cine o festival de referencia.
