Plainsbreaker is a business that sells fashionable socks for the everyman. Whether you wear chucks, kicks, steel toed work boots, or dress shoes these socks are for you. Plainsbreaker is how we refer to the Rocky Mountains - they break the vast plains of Western Canada. Like our socks, they break plain. They can turn an ordinary outfit into something uniquely you - trendy, bold, fun and burst through the “plain”. As a small Canadian company that just started up a couple of months ago we are interested in forming relationships with a few retailers but also want to maintain some exclusivity with the companies we deal with. Knowing that, we are talking to several retailers and hope to have product in stores within the next month or so. The big thing we want to be keenly aware of is being able to supply retailers with adequate supply of product...and shopping ourselves to too many stores can dilute our inventory (and our brand). We want to be able to commit to a few stores and right now we have the inventory to be able to do so. As well, part of us forming these relationships with retailers includes a more personal approach to business. We are accommodating and aim to be respectful in listening to your needs and what you want from us. When it comes to pricing we have a current offering at $10 each or 3/$20 on all socks. This is actually placed very inexpensive based on the quality of our product, and the intention behind this is to drive unit sales and more profit dollars than a specific margin percentage. Many of us here at Plainsbreaker have been involved in retail for many years and our model is based on a dollars per square foot basis.
