Spotlab is a spin-off from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Its origins date back to the MalariaSpot project in 2012. The latter demonstrated the capacity of video games, crowdsourcing and AI as tools for the diagnosis of malaria. We aim to democratize the access to medical diagnosis. We create a new generation of telemedicine solutions to reduce the time, costs, distances and carbon footprint of medical diagnosis. We want to contribute to universal health coverage and the SDGs taking advantage of the potential of smartphones, 3D printing and artificial intelligence.
