Diwala (https://diwala.io/) is a digital platform that enables secure and efficient issuance and verification of certificates or credentials to individuals and businesses, working to serve the population of 1.8 billion people worldwide living without a digital identity and who are unable to prove their education, work, and financial history. With the Diwala platform being backed by blockchain technology, any institution or organization can issue secure digital certificates or credentials. These credentials can easily be accessed online at any time by the recipients, whether or not they have smartphones and anyone can quickly verify the validity of the information shared in these certificates or credentials online in seconds. Our mission is to build an ecosystem of digital inclusivity by enabling easy issuance and verification of credentials; to enable access, build trust, and optimize how we work. We have over 40 digital credential issuers using the platform and we have secured 334,000 users to our platform by contract with key customers such as the Stanbic Bank, SAP University Alliances, the MTN Youth Skilling program, NSSF Hi innovator, Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services to mention but a few. The platform is now being used in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Ghana. Our vision is to build an economy of trust that helps foster digital inclusion, with its opportunities, to every citizen of the world.
