Foster children in Pinellas and Pasco counties need more help than the system can provide. Guardians ad Litem help these children to be heard in the courtroom. A Guardian ad Litem advocate can make a critical difference in an innocent child’s life. Hero To A Child raises funds and resources to help volunteer Guardians meet the social, emotional and health needs of the children they serve. We work to ensure that there is a volunteer advocate for every abused, abandoned, and neglected child in Pinellas and Pasco counties. We do this by raising funds and resources for the Sixth Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program. These funds help us to: - Recruit, train and retain more Guardians to serve children in need. - Increase understanding that all children who cannot live safely at home need a Guardian who will help guide their safe passage out of foster care. - Provide for these children’s basic needs, from clothing and personal care items to tutoring and counseling. Our Mission We advocate for and support children, young adults, and families impacted by abuse and neglect in Pinellas and Pasco Counties by collaborating with community partners and the Guardian ad Litem staff and volunteers who support the children we serve. Our Vision We envision a community where every child and young adult is safe, secure and thriving. We believe every child deserves to have a permanent family and be well prepared for their future beyond foster care.
