Shaun Parker & Company is an exhilarating and bold Australian dance company that has exploded onto the international dance scene. It creates critically acclaimed dance productions, which are renowned for their integration of stimulating choreographic forms, arresting musical scores and theatrical invention. The company was founded in 2010 by award winning Artistic Director and Choreographer Shaun Parker. His work is described as ‘so cutting edge it actually wanders off the edge of any single-word definition…’ Based in Sydney, the company has toured across Australia and internationally to Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Sweden, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Serbia, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, USA, Serbia and the UK (including a sold out season at London’s prestigious dance house Sadler’s Wells) The company has won two Australian Dance Awards, the Shirley McKechnie Award for Choreography, the NSW Premier’s Creative Achievement Award, a Banksy Award (New Zealand), the Argus Angel Award (UK), the Bearer Of Hope Award (Germany), several Helpmann Award nominations, Finalist for the CHASS Prize, and Finalist in Premier’s NSW Export Awards in the Creative Industries genre. Shaun Parker & Company contributes to the professional development of its key ensemble of creative and dancers through workshops, mentoring, creative development, performances and touring, and is proud of the extensive employment opportunities if offers dancers and creative artists. Shaun Parker & Company is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts (2016 – 2020) and the New South Wales Government through Create NSW triennial funding. It is resident company at the Seymour Centre, University of Sydney as part of its Arts Bunker Residency Program.
