90+ years since our founding as Our Own Damn Yacht Club, we remain a community rooted in the love of sailing and an organization designed to nurture this love. We host one of the most active racing schedules on the Chesapeake Bay and promote all forms of sailing — racing, cruising, recreational for all ages. Since 1953, our Junior Fleet has produce lifelong sailors, including some of the best sailors in the country. Our mission is to make sailing reachable for all, which underscores everything we do. Our shared boat program removes the burden required in owning a boat to sail. Our adult education programs make it simple and fun to start at an older age.
