Fight Against Facilitation Payments Initiative
www.fafpi.orgEvery day, companies and organizations are met with demands to pay facilitation payments when they cross borders, obtain licenses, need permissions, transport goods, apply for a service etc. The payments are often smaller amounts demanded by a government official to speed up the performance of a routine process to which the client is already legally entitled. In spite of the relatively small amounts demanded each time, the combined demands for facilitation payments represents considerable values and costly time lost for the individual company or organization. However, individual companies and organizations have very limited leverage to combat and oppose these demands successfully. The purpose of FAFPI is to collectively fight demands for facilitation payment by creating solid internal company and organizational policies and gather data on when and where companies and organizations meet demands for facilitation payment.
