University of Missouri Investment Group (UMIG)
www.missouri.eduThe University of Missouri Investment Group (UMIG) enhances the Trulaske curriculum by providing practical knowledge and skills pertaining to investment banking, private equity, asset management, and other careers in capital markets. UMIG facilitates opportunities for students to interact with professionals in finance and provides a variety of educational and networking opportunities including trips to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. Additionally, UMIG hosts a weekend-long financial modeling boot camp led by Finance|able — the industry standard for financial modeling training. UMIG is structured in two distinct, but integrated entities — the general members, and the Associate's Program. General membership is open to all students regardless of age, major, or background. General meetings consist of discussions of investment strategies, analysis techniques, and technical training workshops. While general membership is open to any student, members of the Associate's Program go through a competitive application and interview process designed to mirror the recruiting process for financial firms. The Associate's Program’s placement into these careers is unmatched by any other organization at the University of Missouri. The Associate's Program also actively manages a portfolio of public equities by deploying fundamental analysis techniques discussed in training seminars and general meetings.
