www.ucl.ac.ukThe UCL Legal Advice Clinic, based in the Sir Ludwig Guttmann Health and Wellbeing Centre in Stratford, offers users of the Liberty Bridge Road General Practice free face to face general legal advice on all aspects of social welfare law including welfare benefits and housing. Staffed by UCL law students working under the close supervision of qualified lawyers and advisers, the Clinic offers students a rich educational opportunity while also providing a valuable and much needed service to members of the local community. Building on the Faculty’s world-leading access to justice research, the UCL Legal Advice Clinic will also provide the basis for a wide-ranging research agenda seeking answers to fundamental questions about the nature of legal needs and the links between legal and health problems. What we do: We offer free general advice and assistance for registered patients of the Liberty Bridge Road GP Practice in social welfare law issues. The kinds of issues we can help with include: welfare benefits issues including challenging decisions, entitlement checks, form filling, housing benefits ESA, PIP, etc. issues with housing: disrepair, issues with landlords & tenancies, evictions & homelessness employment issues: unfair dismissal, unpaid wages, discrimination family issues: divorce, domestic violence.
