In the demographic landscape in the United States, Latinos are the largest ethnic minority group at 17% of the country’s population and comprise 21% of the Millennial generation. Unfortunately, only 4% of executive positions in Fortune 500 firms are held by Latinos. If Latinos as a whole, can venture into many new endeavors and environments why is it that they are not as successful in Corporate America? LCA TM is the culmination of years of research into barriers Latinos consistently face as they move into Corporate America. Through focus groups, interviews, questionnaires and scientific publications, emerging themes were identified, career predictors were developed, and a rating scale construction allowed for the final tool to emerge: a self -assessment that brings a practical approach to providing Latinos with the insight and actions they can immediately apply to be successful in their careers. This is the first-ever validated career assessment and development tool focused on the Latino professional that pivots on self-awareness to identify behavioral patterns that need to be changed in order to overcome barriers on career development.
