Next Step VRtual Ltd. is an Alberta based start-up creating virtual reality (VR) simulations to support stakeholder relations and project approval. We convert 3D Models of proposed or existing Oil & Energy Infrastructure to virtual reality and create a simulation of the real-world surroundings. Stakeholders immerse into the simulation via a head mounted display (HMD) and tour with 360-degree views in one-to-one (1:1) scale. Stakeholders assimilate information based on their own mental models. Our experiences, biases, perceptions, and areas of expertise collectively influence how we view a project. How will it work? What pieces of equipment should be installed? Will it affect the aesthetics of the proposed location? As a result, stakeholders may not process all the information communicated to them and search for messages that only align with their current views. Next Step VRtual replaces the mental model with an immersive VR simulation.
