From a personal averseness to the throw away culture to the conviction that materials can continuously be transferred to new value, WasteCycle is a product of the genuine concern its founders have for the health of the environment and society around them and their interest in solving them. It started out with an initial focus on the problems PET bottles caused after we discard them. This honest curiosity sparked the creative and innovative instinct in the founders to seek an inclusive and profitable solution for the efficient collection and recycling of PET bottles. Armed with the shear will to solve these problems, the Smart Pet Bottle Collector (SPC) was designed and small prototypes created. It was in the process of refining this that the idea of a digital waste platform was conceived. While one of the founders was clearing out a study space and trying to rid it of things that were no longer useful, it suddenly became obvious that digital communication and connection was what needed to be leveraged at scale to turn waste everywhere to valuable materials again. It was in this eureka moment that the name dumpsite was coined and the new and central pursuit of a digital platform that facilitates connection and communication on waste to drive efficient collection, recycling and reuse began. Currently, WasteCycle is gradually positioning itself with its innovative force to launch cutting edge waste solutions that would drive collection, reuse and recycling with new disruptive business models. We continue to focus on technology and connection capabilities to deliver inclusive solutions that have some good for everybody.
